In the distant pre-historic past there existed a group of beings who would turn their ears skyward hoping to catch a whisper from the heavens. Their prayers, falling on deaf ears, left them nowhere to turn. Creating rituals, they sought the attention of some long-departed god. Their many experiments in faith rarely bore fruit. One such experiment, involving the deep collective focus of every member of their society lasted for days. Just as the youngest and the frailest began to grow weak from hunger, there was a flash of lightning and a great shaking of the earth. Golabeest sprung forth, its limbs moving mechanically, a thick miasma seeping from its open mouth. Whether this primitive society saw Golabeest as a blessing from above, or a cursed demon from below is unknown.
