The Player is a fourteen year old from Windy Province. They are the child of Issac, and aid him in farm work there. Initially, they are taught how to be a Tamer by Issac and are loaned a Teedon so that they may search the vicinity for a Primigon. Once a Primigon has been found, Issac gives them a comic book with a prize-draw competition in the back. By chance, the Player wins the prize draw and gets to choose one of five starter monsters, Dracoyle, Darwhol, Ambigu, Hooclaw and Canite. Once they collect their monster, they are given their first objective; deliver the packaged gift to the king of the Humanism Kingdom, King Tenna.

Eventually, they are implicated in the fight to prevent Beth from reviving the terrible Philosopher Kings.

Appearance

The Player has no set appearance, as it is mostly up to the player what kind of clothes they wear, what kind of hairstyle they have and the color of their skin. On the box art of Monster Crown, the Player is depicted as a black-haired teenager with a straw hat, orange shirt, blue jeans and white shoes with the Dream Egg in their backpack. Among their party appears to be Playg and Gyn, with a Storklift, Tanukrook and a red-coloured Staglus in the background. It is unknown if those latter three are meant to be members of their party. Other earlier artwork has depicted The Player as having blonde hair with the same straw hat, but with blue jeans, a red jacket and red shoes instead.

Monsters

As The Player is an extension of the player of the game, their party is not set in stone. They can start with any one of Dracoyle, Darwhol, Ambigu, Hooclaw and Canite, and are known to have used a Teedon in order to tame a wild Primigon.
