The Hewston Gene Lab is a genetic laboratory. It can currently be accessed by talking to the Hooper Sister who is posted to the far east of Frost Province, before a cave. It houses the Chromosome Editor Machine, which can be used by the player to edit genes, enabling them to have more control over what a monster offspring inherits through breeding.
