Acquiring A Publisher[edit]
On February 9th 2019 it was announced on Monster Crown's YouTube Channel that SODESCO would be Monster Crown's publisher. In the video, lead developer Jason Walsh said: 'After the Kickstarter a few different publishers contacted us, which was great, and definitely flattering. But we wanted to make sure that if we worked with a publisher, while they can bring a lot to the table, we wanted to be 100% sure that they got our vision, and didn’t want to make any changes that went against our vision for the game.' He went on to say: 'we found the great publishers at SODESCO really got our vision for Monster Crown, and had a huge interest in the genre in general.'
Private Beta[edit]
Monster Crown's Private Beta was launched on March 8th 2019 to the 'Monster Designer' tier backers. The Private Beta included the first two chapters of the game. In a Steam update posted the day before the launch, it was said that: 'The game is being tested & polished extensively, but we're looking for some hands-on time from fans to confirm we're on the right track and the game feels and is as fun as it can be...Player feedback will be used to determine how close we are and if additional work must be done to make the game fun, fair and balanced.
We're starting with the Kickstarter Monster Designers and, based on the results and feedback determine if and how we'll extend this group to more Monster Tamers and possibly add additional chapters of the game to the Beta for your enjoyment.'
Closed Beta[edit]
Monster Crown's Closed Beta launched on the 24th February 2020 to all of the Kickstarter backers $10 tier and above. It was later identified that there was a problem with the default key bindings not being set up properly, causing players to be unable to navigate their character or the menu. This issue was quickly fixed.

Monster Crown was released in Early Access on the 31st July 2020.
